I studied for my GCSEs at the Roseland Community School which is conveniently located in the village I live in, I did reasonably well in my GCSEs although I was predicted better exam results, whilst at School I was unable to study I.T. as an option so I opted for the "vocational pathways" option where I was able to complete CLAIT and IBT II at St Austell College by taking a half day at college on a Wednesday as exciting as that was it was at least a start in I.T.

I moved onto Truro College where I studied a BTEC National Certificate in I.T. Practitioners focusing on Software Development combined with an AVCE in I.T. going for the more vocational route through education, whilst I learned a lot of new skills from some of the best teachers I’ve had I also got a part time job in Network Support where I was able to learn and reaffirm the skills I was gaining. I completed my BTEC at a grade of double distinction which alone gave me the grades I needed to get into university.

Onto the University of Plymouth my choice of course was largely due to the manditory placement which is involved, I reconise that I need to have work experience in order to get anywhere in my career, my previous work experience was good but not focused at Software Engineering at all. I completed my first and second years at university at an overall first class level which has put me on the Faculty of Technology Honour Roll 05-06 and 06-07. This has in turn with my work experience helped me to get my placement with Lockheed Martin which I enjoyed throughly and learnt a lot from.
